Guest guest
Just received word that JRI is dropping me as a patient....yes I have been difficult. Sorry they do not understand stress related issues. I am too a health care giver.20 years as a Radiation Therapist caring for in some cases terminal cancer patients @ the University of Florida. I have delt with people on the absolute edge due to health concerns. It concerns me that they are not trained in dealing with frightened individuals such as me. Please be extra nice to these people....if you want JRI to do your surgery. I was not ...called them on many things and they did not respond well. I was so excited about JRI that I went and visited patients who have had the procedure. Steve from Colorado was so nice and we talked about his good experience. Now I am out.........and I am devastated D O N
Guest guest
D O N I have been sporadically and superficially reading your posts over the last few days and could see that you seemed to lack the conviction (or, maybe, courage) to go ahead with this procedure. It would appear that you were judged as too a difficult patient by that establishment. But, try not to despair – see instead where else you can go and have the procedure done. Try to use the negative experience to your advantage – maybe you should give the new lot less ‘hell’ than you may have done at JRI. Try to remember that the same way we can choose our physicians, they can choose their patients. Too hard a case and they may lose interest. So, try to be more scared of being dropped again and less scared of the procedure – you’ll benefit that way. And, believe me, there is nothing to be scared about. If it helps, think of it the following way: “I am going to an establishment where there are people who can help me get better. I am therefore looking forward to going there.†All you should do is inform yourself as best you can (this site is excellent for that purpose) and then have an intelligent discussion with the professionals who will take care of you. You can, and have to, ask them all sorts of probing and pertinent questions. In my experience, they do like patients who appear well informed and who show an interest in the procedure and what it will do to their body. In my view, they appreciate it if you bother to learn and ask – it may give them extra kudos to be seen, rightly, as do-gooders and saviours. If you manage to do it that way, I trust you will not be dropped by the next establishment you approach. Good luck.
