Guest guest
With all its faults, AZ has it together with its certification cards. I go to the regional office. I present my application and accompanying documents. I sit down and wait for 5 minutes. The clerk returns with a credit-card sized plastic certificate. I tuck it into my wallet and leave. It's a really good looking card and won't disintegrate if I wash it. I go to the DMV to get my Drivers' License. I fill out the papers on a computer. I go to the " photo line " and have my picture taken. Two minutes later, I am called to the counter and my DL, with my picture, is delivered to me. What's wrong with Texas? GG New Cert Card....funny story So, I get my new Cert card in the mail...good till 2015. Cool! It sits on the counter for about a month, cause I am taking a break from EMS and don't need it right away. I am doing some power washing for a summer job (my own power sprayer out of the back of my truck) .....too dang HOT to be on a unit. (even if there was a job) So.... I get the card, and cut it out across the border and take it to get laminated. It has to be folded before laminating, so I folded it across the dotted line in the middle of the card. It came a full centimeter away from the other side....???? I folded the ends even, and it crimped right across the ID numbers! I had to just have it done with one side folded short. I just had to hang my head and snicker.....With all the technology and advancements in EMS, they cannot create a card, that is symmetrical when folded. (sigh) Cougar!! Guest guest
Pennsylvania used to have that system for driver's licenses (for over ten years). Now, to " prevent identity theft " they use the same machine that they used to print your ID card on to print a Temporary card (looks slightly different) and the real one is mailed to you. I have never been more amazed by the aptitude of government to " fix " things by spending more money then necessary while overly complicating processes. At least it's better then the " receipt " Texas gives you when the take your out of state ID (and leave you without photo ID for oh, say 8 weeks).
