Here's my little update: I can't go outside because of the snow. Usually I am still able to go out on the back porch to get some fresh (COLD) air but the back porch is covered with ice. As a result of the snow and ice I can't go out to "visit" the chickens and ducks. Boo!I plan to make fudge this afternoon as soon as 15 year-old-granddaughter is through making her cookies. She is making gingerbread men, sugar cookies, coconut macaroons and coconut-pecan cookies (her own recipe). My son braved the treacherous roads to take his wife to work and then to pick her up today. On the way they picked up my 24 year old grandson to drop him at work. I am so glad doesn't have to

drive those bad, super icy roads. Son said he checked the mail and the last of my ordered gifts finally arrived. Whew!If my daughter and her family can get in here over our bad roads they will be over for Christmas Day. I worry that the roads will be too bad for them to make it! My son said if they can get close he will go "ferry" them in with his 4 wheel drive truck. If they get here then all 8 grandkids and both kids and their spouses will be here for Christmas with me. I am looking forward to seeing everyone.We will have ham and I'll make a huge pan of my scalloped potatoes. My step daughter is doing the usual - roasts (in 35c heat!),

and the roasted vegetables, cold stuff, puddings, pavlovas and the works.

It is Saturday the 24th and 11:09am here and she will be working until quite late - and will start on the cooking when she gets home.
