Guest guest
Ok, Im a bit confused, The course listed is the AEMT, there is nothing for just Intermediate. Actually I have never heard of AEMT, but reading the Disc. it sounds like the first part of the old " Paramedic Completer " course. As far as payment of tuition goes, I will be needing to have my Attorney's office cut a check and send it to you, but, I didn't see an option for that. Is the Abilene address where I should send payment? I am only looking for EMT-I at this time, will you get me a total on tuition, and where to send it? It appears that I cannot even fill out an aplication from that site, without using paypal, or signing up for the payment plan, which is not what I wish to do. Is there a paper application I could D/L and print, and send it in with payment? To answer your question about A&P, I have not taken any outside of EMS training, from colleges. NHCC I passed fast track EMT-I a long time ago, got the CCC, but didnt test out in time. HCC, I went 3/4 through a Paramedic Completer, but did not finish. I am currently certified EMT-B non registry. I would put this in private, but I think the answers may help others that may be thinking of taking this course. Thank you in advance, Mike aka Cougar!! Guest guest
AEMT or more specifically known as EMT-Advanced (terms used interchangeably) is the new " Intermediate " designation, curriculum and registration/certification that is replacing " I85 " and " I99 " . NREMT is phasing out testing of those two prior levels and replacing it with EMT-A testing. Existing certificants with one of those certifications will be forced to complete a transition course to go to AEMT and then be required to take another NR skills test and another CBT to achieve that status by a specific deadline or you will be demoted to EMT. So it is not in your best interest to take an " Intermediate 85 " course any longer. TDSHS has agreed to allow EMT-A certificants to achieve Intermediate certification in Texas in the interim while this rule wording is changed because there is really no other option. That website that you went to requires that you submit payment for the course in its entirety through paypal or contact our finance guy for a payment plan; either way, payment has to be assured first. Then he will send you a link to a simple online registration form that gives us basic information on you that we have to have. Once that is done, we email you the Welcome Packet which allows you to complete everything else and submit other documents digitally, which is what we need because we keep digital files on all students. Documents that you would be required to send in with that digital packet would include your current NREMT-B or state EMT-B certification, a current AHA Healthcare provider CPR card, and an A&P transcript if you have taken and passed A&P. We give credit if someone has taken and passed a Human A&P course at a college and can produce evidence of such. If not, the course and book is then included as a freebie as part of your registration but if you want out of having to take it, please let us know during the registration process so that we won't waste yours and our time and such putting you through a course that you don't need. However, for students who don't have that, we put you through an online A&P course that is totally self-directed but helps you overall with concepts that you need to grasp before you can grasp much of the " meat and taters " of acid/base, fluids and electrolytes, human systems and disease, etc. I hope that answers questions for you and for others. If you have any other questions, please email jerrydinsmore@.... If you have questions for me specifically, email me at programdirector@... . Jane Dinsmore To: texasems-l From: ems_cougar@... Guest guest
um.... no sir, I have not. I have been socked away in the private txp industry, mixed up in the psych and dialysis and day care transports for so long, that I have a LOT to learn about the direction REAL EMS took. Like I posted here a year ago, I didn't even feel like a real medic anymore. Fortunately, I was not an " Owner " in any of that, just an employee. I am looking forward to learning how to become a real medic once again. Mike I'll keep my Guns, my Freedom and my MONEY, You can keep the " CHANGE.
