Guest guest
Hello from northern MI I started my mornng by finding out I threw out my vial with my new contacts in it. So I had to fish them out of the garbage this am which was on the curb for pickup.Thank God I found them they are my last pair till the new ones come in. Yes I have glasses I can wear but since MS has taken my balance away when I look down with glasses I get really unbalanced whereas the contacts cover the whole eye and it doesn't matter where I look. Round one went to SSDI . In 90 days of my application .....I'm not disabled by their standards. Round two is getting all the new info for a hearing. I was told by people that everyone gets denied the first time. I'd like to send in a video of what I can and can't do. Or yet come and live with me for a day.LOL On the bright side I have no falls or relapses since Dec. I've been on Avonex since Jan, had side effects for the first few shots and now nothing. Baclofen(60mg) for spasticity and nighttime spasms- this has controlled it well. Well off to sit in the barn , thanks to MS :do a chore, then have to sit and rest. My workability or being able to stand on my feet last 10 minutes. Then I have to rest. Gives a new meaning to stop and smell the roses doesn't it. Guest guest
Almost embarrassed to post, it's been so long! The end of July (my oldest daughter's 32nd birthday, to be exact) I started Gilenya. Very cool, yet weird, to not be giving myself injections. An unfortunate side effect is that it lowers your ability to fight infection and I immediately got my youngest son's bronchitis. We're both much better except for the occasional cough. Had a recheck with my PCP yesterday and she prescribed an inhaler which I feel is really helping. We adopted a dog and a kitten last weekend! Kind of a long story - we volunteer with GSD Rescue and I was called to evaluate a dog at the local shelter. Turns out that dog wasn't there anymore but they had picked up a stray they wanted me to look at. Very shy/scared 4 year old female who I felt would easily come out of her shell when placed in a home. In the process of pulling the GSD and transporting her to foster care a co-volunteer asked if I'd be interested in a six week old kitten they'd found under the hood of a car. Our 12 year old cat has been very lonely since we had to put his brother down this past June . . . so that's how Carly became a member of our family. Eight year old granddaughter Hailey couldn't stop talking about Tasha (the GSD) and my family confessed they missed having a GSD since our old one died over a year ago. Long story short - we brought Tasha home last Sunday and she is blossoming!Other than that it's been the usual back-to-school craziness To: Group <mserslife >Sent: Thursday, September 29, 2011 11:10 PMSubject: It's update time folks! Guest guest
Hey ! It's good to hear from you. I'm sorry about SSDI being denied and I hope they approve you on the next round. It sucks that so many MSers are denied SSDI so often. Crappy....Avonex is good because you only have a shot once a week. It's great your side effects have eased off for you! I was on it for 5 years and did good on it. How's your weather?hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product.
