Guest guest
, I would tell you that the only post(s) I have read on this site regarding Dr. Goldberg came from a gentleman who had to have his resurfacing changed to a THR a year after it's install. And as I am sure that Dr. Goldberg is a qualified surgeon, and has probably enjoyed great success in his resurfacings (the ones I have never read about). I would'nt feel right NOT telling you that his name was indeed mentioned by a hippie with a failed resurf. Some hippies may remember the website that belongs to the guy with the failed resurf. It's bananarepulic.com, or something along those lines. Anyway, I'm sorry if this worries you, but I know that I diligently researched my surgeons reputation and success rate before surgery, and I know that I would have wanted to know everything I could about the guy who was to work on me. I hope that all goes well for you. Amstutz C+ 4-15-04 > I live in West Michigan and am trying to decide who would be one of > the best doctors for hip resurfacing. Guest guest
Hi , I contacted the office of a Dr Kraay, who is affiliated with Dr Goldberg. Seemed like everything was fine but the experience factor was a little light for me. Of course that was several months ago and they might have completed many more implants to date. Give them a call directly, the doctor will return your call and talk to you personally. Dr Gross had completed over 300 implants at the time I arranged for my surgery. ( Some hippy said only this week he's now over 350 to date. ) Dr Gross has a very large following from out of state patients, including Michigan. For sure, I'll be returning to him as my other hip will be bone on bone very soon. Several hippies have written to no end about their good experience with every step in resurfacing by Dr Gross and everyone else involved. In any case, who ever you should choose for surgery, let that doctors office do ALL the talking to the insurance company. Period. Oh, and don't wait too long. That's one of the few mistakes you can make with resurfacing. Good luck. Regards, Nor. Any feedback/experience with Dr. Goldberg or any other doctor recommendations? I've currently got Priority Health HMO and don't know how they'll react to an out of state request for a THR. I was planning on having the two doctor's offices work out those details. Any other suggestions there? Thanks everyone,
Guest guest
: I was extremely happy with all aspects of the procedure - I used Dr. Gross in S.C. I let them handle all the insurance issues. The HMO I had originally (Kaiser Mid-Atlantic) would not let me do anything outside the HMO (even though Dr. Mont is a participating specialist). I ended up switching plans during open season to a First Health PPO - they covered it (90%) without a problem.
