Thanks for putting me out in a public forum like that you seem like a real team

player. Questions like this are asked all the time on here. To answer your

question I have both looked on the website at the rules, I was hoping for

clarification from one of the many people on this list that are or have direct

ties to the governing agency. I have also called the state twice with no reply,

that was mentioned in an earlier email.

Sorry for the spelling and punctuation this was typed on the tiny keyboard on my

iPhone

folks who are likely as uninformed as you? Even the old TDH had the rules posted

on the web, and if finding the actual rule proves difficult, I think they even

have phone service in Austin.

Okay, so maybe that was a bit harsh but it gets so tiresome seeing this kind of

question asked to a list of people that very likely don't have any more

information than you. Asking for info from this list is asking for trouble. They

don't know any better than you do. You called yourself " old school. " To me that

indicates experience. If you've had some experience you should know that asking

this list, or any public forum questions is unlikely to get you an accurate

answer.

If you've called DSHS twice and not gotten a reply, then that is a problem. The

people at DSHS are supposed to be responsive to the stakeholders. I've never had

a problem calling and getting an answer, but if they are not answering for you

then you need to work up the chain or perhaps calling one of the satellite

offices. State agencies are required to be responsive to the public.

Asking this list rule or law questions will get you a dozen answers and you will

still not know if any of them are correct.

And to Molino, if someone still calling DSHS by a name the agency hasn't used in

6 or 7 years means to you that that person is " our young, " I simply don't know

what to say.

Compared to me most on this list are EMS young by default as my 30th anniversary

was on Friday. Not all in Texas mind you.

The young statement was more metaphor than reality based as I know not the

players.

I have been on this list at least 10 years, and yes I agree questions do get

tiresome but if you can't ask a question without ridicule what exactly is the

point. I thought this was supposed to be a network of colleagues helping each

other out. I apologize if the question was inappropriate or offensive, but in

my opinion it was not. If you're tired of your inbox being full of questions

maybe it's time to click the remove button. I'm not trying to put you out here,

I'm really not, but please try and have some patience with people especially the

ones you don't know. We are all on the same team! My email is listed you could

have easily hit me off-list. " TDH " said more out of habit than anything else,

has not called me back after two calls to compliance office messages left both

times. There are also people on this list who are legal professional, and

people who work in the DSHS offices that post on here frequently, not to mention

Tactical Medics, who may have insure in to

my question.

Respectfully,

Then explain that to them, why be so abrasive? Why not just try to be helpful

and answer the man's question? I personally think that the way you treat fellow

EMT's on this board, is a pretty good indication of how you might treat a

patient in the field. BTW.....I STILL call it TDH. Just as my mom still called

Kroger's " Heinkies " before she passed. I would ask people to lighten up, but

after ten + years of seeing people treated like that here.....It's a lost cause.

A big THANK YOU, to Mr. Bishop I got the help I was looking for. Also thank you

to all who have tried to help me out with this it is greatly appreciated. If

you would like to know what I found out hit me up off list, I'm ready for this

post to be dead!!!!

Sorry for the spelling and punctuation this was typed on the tiny keyboard on my

iPhone

> Then explain that to them, why be so abrasive? Why not just try to be helpful

and answer the man's question? I personally think that the way you treat fellow

EMT's on this board, is a pretty good indication of how you might treat a

patient in the field. BTW.....I STILL call it TDH. Just as my mom still called

Kroger's " Heinkies " before she passed. I would ask people to lighten up, but

after ten + years of seeing people treated like that here.....It's a lost cause.

kind of question asked to a list of people that very likely don't have any more

information than you. Asking for info from this list is asking for trouble. They

don't know any better than you do. You called yourself " old school. " To me that

indicates experience. If you've had some experience you should know that asking

this list, or any public forum questions is unlikely to get you an accurate

answer.

The people at DSHS are supposed to be responsive to the stakeholders. I've never

had a problem calling and getting an answer, but if they are not answering for

you then you need to work up the chain or perhaps calling one of the satellite

offices. State agencies are required to be responsive to the public.
