Guest guest
I was wondering the same thing. 39 % versus 89%. I am baffled... ---- Ron Haussecker haussecker87@...> wrote: > There are about 90-100 employee/retirees systems in danger here. Hope you don’t have one of them. Not sure what the % ratio is saying ie. 82% ratio or 90% ratio. Maybe some on here know since it includes Teachers, EMS, Fire, State, City, Law Enforcement, ESD, and County retirees to name a few. Can anyone clear this up in a layman’s terms and not in a joking manner since this is very, very serious to many of us. > Ron > > http://www.star-telegram.com/2011/01/31/2811814/legislators-looking-at-troubled.\ html?appSession=675279261847875 > >
Guest guest
Ron, Not sure that anyone knows how deep the cuts are going to be until HB1, SB1 and the Gov's budget get reconciled. It is a fact that almost everyone is going to get cut, the only question is how deep. We know that in the proposed budgets, nursing home 'Caid reimbursement is slated for a 30% cut, ambulance is going to get hit somewhere between 14-30%. The state is projected to layoff about 9500 employees. 4 colleges are slated to lose funding and the number of state hospitals is going to be reduced. Beginning today through Thursday, the Senate is holding hearings and I would strongly encourage and provider that receives funding get to AUS and sign up and testify. We all are going to get hit, so now is your chance to have your voice heard. Get to the capital and testify. Guest guest
God Bless you, and TAA Dave, For 30 yrs Texas Ambulance Association has been the only surviving EMS Association that looks after the EMS Industry without bias in Texas. Every person in EMS in the State of Texas and the Country can be very, very thankful they have an Association responsive, open, public , no hidden agendas, and has one interest and one only. That is the success of EMS and all involved. I know I’m behind the curve on this session and I’m not the President or representative of EMSAT now for years past, but I’ll throw what money I can, and what help I can with TAA. I know the staff will keep me in the loop on the important dates, of hearing dates, times, and subject, or as we say “Call to Actionâ€, perhaps you will be able to share some of it on the list where and when you and the Board deem it would be in TAA and it’s Members best interest. Once again I want to thank you, the Board, members and God for TAA’s actions and existence to the EMS Industry. I do have some strong friends with the TRS that work with us local Dems to fight for the Teachers and I do what I can to assist them when asked through the local Party bulletins. Thanks, Dinosaur Ron From: spiband@... Sent: Tuesday, February 01, 2011 8:23 AM To: texasems-l Subject: Re: Legislators looking at troubled state pension plans | Texas Legislature | News from Fort...
