No law that they have to be scattered; how about burying them somewhere!Love,nP.S. That is what we did with Hans' ashesSubject: RE: What's going on?To: MSersLife Date: Tuesday, August 2, 2011, 1:51 PM

Thank you. I know that having the ashes of his grandmother and aunt in the house is bugging Robbin big-time, he will be happy when I can do what has to be done. Not too sure about me, though, I opened one of the boxes, once, and shuddered for next hour. How I will get it together to scatter all three I do not know.

I found homes for 3 of the kittens and Rob is going to take the rest and the mommy back up to the farm when he goes. He is talking about leaving later this week. HE still hasn't 'fessed up about the beantown babe, I am biding my time lol...I got my watches back, sent them to a place to have their batteries replaced. They oh-so-kindly offered to clean them in an ultrasonic machine for $15 each (discounting me from their "usual" $25 each), I declined, went online and bought the SAME machine for $5 (with free shipping no less) so I will be able to clean them, and the rest of my jewelry. Any time I want...free! The battery replacement wasn't bad, they

cost about $8 ea, and if you send in 3 or more they don't charge for return s & h, and they are guaranteed for a year.I am going to post two of the watches on eBay as soon as I have the machine and have cleaned them, one is a pretty little watch, the band is silvertone and the face a pretty pink, I'll probably sell it pretty cheap. The second one I will auction is my sister's Anne Kein diamond watch. It is beautiful but it is also the one she was wearing when she died so I really just don't think I can wear it. It will be totally clean and shouldn't bother anyone else to wear it, just me. The third one I am keeping, a Bulova Marine Star. All three watches are calendar and waterproof to 100 ft. I have seen the Anne Klein on Amazon for $200 new and about $120 used, of course I will sell it as used. Mike said he got some things from her house that I should be able to auction as well, some leather coats, no idea what they are like but he said they're

nice and should sell. The important thing he got was her ashes, now I will finally be able to scatter her, Mom and , all three together, where they wanted to be. Amen. ~*~Hugs~*~~*~Akiba~*~Pragmatic Visionaryhttp://www.affiliates-natural-salt-lamps.com/pages/156.php-------Original Message-------

Its a law here in IL that you can't keep a persons ashes. They have to be

buried. I never knew that till our sons friend told the undertaker his mom

wanted to be cremated and he wanted to buy an urn to keep on his mantle.

Wow, I never heard of that. Most places that I know of let you keep them or whatever, it is your choice. When they say they have to be buried, do they mean in a cemetery proper or in your backyard? Rob has suggested I flush them. Whatta guy. Might flush HIM if I get the chance!

We buried Hans' ashes ( with permit to scatter said ashes ) in Tilden park at 4:00 a.m.!My 2nd daughter just wanted "a place to go!" No from what I understand they have to be in a cemetery. I don't think thats

right, if you want to keep them you should be able to. Gotta love Illinois!

My thoughts are, its the funeral parlor that has the ashes, I am thinking that

they just can't hand them over to you, they have to be taken to a cemetery. At

least in Illinois. Because if he gave them to the family they could do what ever

they wanted. The same as the funeral parlor couldn't release a body to the

family.
