Guest guest
I am a dancer - there are a few other here too. . . . . . . Just very briefly - Do your research! A standard THR removes the femoral head plus neck and has a shaft that goes down the femoral canal. Through stress, this shaft will loosen. There is always a chance of dislocation if you should move in an incorrect direction causing the small ball to hit against the cup in a dislodging fashoin. I was so very accustom to having such range and ability in my body the idea of a THR was just so unacceptable to me. I found out about resurfacing through some lucky twists of fate. I researched it for nearly 2 years before finally coming to the point where I HAD to do something. In a perfect world my body would not need it. In this one it did. I am pain free now and very mobile. I teach both Pilates, modern & ballet not to mention some acro although I have only done 2 cartwheels since my surgery. My only wish now is for a long time before I have to go back for any further surgery. Atleast when I d o . . . I will be older (49 now 48 at time of surgery) . . . . . .the numbers will add up better. . . . . and I will be at a primary hip position . . .. . .. . . .It is all a gamble but I so strongly felt this was (IS) the netter one for me. Best of Luck to you Please do your research:-) email me as you like Alyce LC2K 5-23-03 Wm Kennedy
