Hey, Alan: If you chip in for the C4, I'll let you use the flamethrower some. Steve (bilat C+ 4/20/04, Amstutz)
Guest guest
Hello Alan, I followed your ' story' and everytime I read something it makes my blood run a little bit faster (that is the only good thing about it). I had awful fights with my Dutch insurance company. To be honoust I'm so much knocked over about how the system works I don't even dear to put the name of the company on this site. However, it is not personal, you are fighting for the bread of BHR surgeons as well. Can't you let your (planned) surgeon phone your insurance company and let him make a few things clear. Also, if CIGNA payed for other patients, could that be discrimination? It is all about (a lot) of money but I do think the acceptance of the BHR procedures by the national healthcare systems (worldwide) will be irreversable...but insurance companies will keep trying to push it away. Further, I don't know enough about the American system to give you taylor made advice. I hope you don't make the same mistake as I did, giving all my energy to the insurance fight while I should have been reading the Dalai Lama to prepare myself for surgery. Good luck, Mijke (LBHR 02/06/04 DeSmet) ! I have been ' eating' Celebrex for 1.5 year and I have been told it makes your bone softer as well. If you take it, don't hesitate with a bone density test (but who will have to pay for that...right?) ----Original Message Follows---- (Twice since you've been resurfed twice.) Questions: Are you a US resurfer? 2) Are you insured? 3) Did your US insurance carrier cover either or both? 4) (Covering my eyes because I almost don't want to know) If insurance did pay, who's your insurance provider? For surfers who have been following my amazing journey...I got a refusal message from CIGNA today. BUT NOT FOR THE RESURF. They won't even pay their part of the Celebrex that might keep me afloat until they deny the resurf submission. Are these people human, or what? Androids/replicants like Roy Batty had more humanity about them than this. They were, at least " more human than human " . The CIGNA people seem to live on a planet that's not yet been contaminated by humanity. I can't walk, and they don't think I've showed " evidence of osteoarthritis " . But they're probably right...this must appear to be some subliminal attempt on my part to impersonate Chester Good from " Gunsmoke " (though I don't watch TV and never saw the show. Maybe I should include that information in future requests?) Anyway, it's late...and my life starts early. Hobble on, Hippies. Guest guest
How much will it take...and will the deconstruction be utter, absoute and beyond repair. If so...where do I sign...and how much do I send? (For those who don't follow such things, references to Roy Batty and the replicants were from a classic sci fi movie from 1982. " Bladerunner " . It's based on K. Dick story. I always thought of it as a cinematic parable about American labor relations...but now, I see it's more fully a parable about how corporate America treats the rest of us.) Hobble on, Hippies...and what a march will we make. Alan > > > For surfers who have been following my amazing journey...I got a > > refusal message from CIGNA today. BUT NOT FOR THE RESURF. Guest guest
Hi Alan. I've been resurfaced once and am getting ready for my second in September. I'm with Blue Shield of Calif. and they did cover 2/3 of my costs (hospital portion) the first time, so I'm assuming and hoping they'll at least do the same the second time around. I'm sorry about your insurance nightmare and sincerely hope your luck turns around soon. Best, Donna LBHR 11/13/02 De Smet RBHR 9/7/04 > (Twice since you've been resurfed twice.)
