Guest guest Posted April 26, 2012 Report Share Posted April 26, 2012 WICHITA FALLS —One person is dead and four injured in a collision involving an ambulance at the intersection of 11th Street and Holliday in Wichita Falls. The collision between an automobile and the ambulance from Archer County shortly after noon knocked the ambulance on its side. Wichita County Sheriff Duke was on the scene and confirmed a patient in the ambulance was dead. The person has been identified as Roy Lee Pope, 58, of Archer City. Pope was being rushed to United Regional Hospital after being attacked by bees in Archer City. He was found at the rear of a bank there. It has not been determined whether he died as a result of the bee attack or injuries in the accident. Two attendants in the ambulance and a woman driving the automobile were hurt, but their injuries were not considered life threatening.
