Subject: Star of Texas Award 2012

EMAIL SENT ON BEHALF OF CHRISTOPHER BURNETT:

Good Morning,

As you are aware, peace officers, firefighters, and emergency m medical first

responders across Texas daily place themselves in harm's way in order to serve

their fellow Texans. In an effort to recognize the sacrifices of these first

responders, the State of Texas created the Star of Texas Award in 2003. This

award serves to honor the bravery and sacrifice of Texas' first responders by

honoring those who have been killed or sustained serious injuries in the line of

duty.

The Governor's Star of Texas Award Advisory Committees are currently accepting

nominations for the 2012 awards. Nominations can be submitted online on the

Governor's website at http://www.governor.state.tx.us/star_of_texas. The

submission deadline is July 31, 2012.

To be eligible for the 2012 awards, the critical incident must have occurred

between September 1, 2003 and June 30, 2012, and the first responder must not

have previously received a Star of Texas Award for that particular incident.

The awards will be presented by the Governor or his designee on a date yet to be

determined in September of 2012.

Your assistance in identifying all eligible first responders for these important

awards is appreciated.

Please feel free to share this information with other professionals in your

field.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding nominations, please contact the

following staff at : Grady (email:

(email:

Sincerely,

Burnett
