Guest guest
;-) I'm here, I'm here !Have spent a week with in Gothenburg (where works and stays 4 days a week, currently). I have visited her there before, but only for a couple of days, and only for the days she'd be there anyway, this time we thought that since her hotel suite is at her disposal all weeks, including weekends, and since Gothenburg is a nice enough city to visit (just VISIT, not live in, we are still very much certain on that point...), we might as well use the opportunity to take a long weekend there and do touristy stuff together. Had a really nice weekend. The hotel is located in a part of the city known as Majorna, and together with the neighboring area, Haga, they form the city shopping district for antiques, books and furniture/lamps (interior design stuff), with a focus on small and unique shops (not big chain stores). There are a lot of cafés and restaurants too. Pretty much everything you need if you are me and ;-) (but if you are more into clothes and fashion, or want to shop at the big chains, I think Vasa, the area north-east of Haga, is where you'd want to go). We did buy some books, a couple of old records and some Christmas gifts too. And we did decide that for our next used bookstore tour, Gothenburg in general and Haga in particular is definitely a destination to consider. The weekdays (when was in her office) I spent visiting some churches of interest (religious studies me you know), but also looking at sights in general, and did some reading and writing (the hotel suite is complete with a quite ok study). And I did something I've been meaning to do for at least 10 years, I visited the grave of one of my favorite musicians (Björn Afzelius, died 1999, at age 52). I wasn't the only one to be coming there, I could tell from the cards etc there. Felt good to finally do that.Unfortunately I must have caught a stomach bug of some kind in Gothenburg, because I spent the first night home mostly throwing up, and the first day after that mostly sleeping... Am OK now, though. Even OK enough to have coffee ;-)love/Reb>> Wherefore art thou, Reb-io? > > > ~*~Hugs~*~ > ~*~Akiba~*~ > Pragmatic Visionary > http://www.affiliates-natural-salt-lamps.com/pages/156.php>
