I just had a resurfacing done by Dr. Beaule on 3/5. If you look in

this site, you can find some others as well.

Orthopedic Hospital is a little old, but the treatment there was

fine. I am only 6 weeks post op and so far so good. I just dont

know what to compare it to, but I think my experience is matching

those of others.

Let me know if you want to hear any specifics.

E,

I had both hips resurfaced by Dr. Amstutz and recommend him highly.

As you may know, he's one of the pioneers of resurfacing. He

collaborated on the design of the Conserve Plus and developed a few

of the operating tools specific to hip resurfacing. I was one of the

first 50 to have the Conserve Plus early in 1998 - my hips were

really bad due to running bone on bone for several years. Amstutz

had only seen a couple of hips worse in his life, grading them a 14

on a scale of 1 – 10. He had to spend an extra hour or more in

surgery repairing all the damage. I'm 9 weeks post-op from his

resurfacing of my other hip and doing great. Amstutz is no spring

chicken but he's got the experience I want and hasn't lost a

step in the seven years I've known him. The rehab from my latest

resurfacing is going faster than my first due to advances his

surgical technique.
