Guest guest
BCBS of Florida denied the Administrative Portion, and payed a miniscule part of the therapy. By the way, they paid 70/30 on almost the whole other portion of De Smet's and the hospital's bill. Good luck. Blum Bills From Belgium A question for those Surfacehippies with Dr. De Smet. Days after receiving my wonderful new hip, the kind doctor gave me an insurance form (already filled out) for his surgical services (together with the bill cited in Euro) and two additional bills (one for Administrative Cost and the other for Physical Therapy/Nursing Care at the hotel. Submitting Dr. De Smet's surgical bill to my insurance company is a no brainer. But, did anyone submit the Administrative and/or Physical Therapy/Nursing Care bills to their insurance company as well? Did you attach an insurance form to these additional charges? And did anybody consequently receive reimbursements for these costs? Have a gut feeling that my insurance company would deny " Administrative Costs. " However, Physical Therapy/Nursing costs should be allowed, in my opinion. Where would be without the help of Marc and Jan? Just for the record, have United HealthCare and Blue Cross of New York. Thank You for your help... K. r/BHR De Smet Feb 3rd,

Guest guest
Hi & ! I have the same signed insurance form and 3 bills (in Euros). Did you also submit copies of the wire transfers that showed the amount in dollars (at the exchange rate that day)? Did you include any other paperwork from Dr. De Smet, for example the laminated sheet that shows the sizes of the components? I haven't submitted anything yet. Did either of you get copies of the hospital bill (in English) yet? Thanks for your help. rBHR 3/3/04 De Smet --- Original Message ----- To: surfacehippy > Sent: Thursday, April 15, 2004 5:14 PM Subject: Re: Bills From Belgium > Thanks > > > BCBS of Florida denied the Administrative Portion, and payed a miniscule > > part of the therapy. Guest guest
Hi , Hope you are doing well. I did not submit the papers to the insurance company yet either. The idea of submitting copies of the wire transfers which show the exchange rate for that day is a good one! However, would not suggest you submit the laminated sheet form Dr. De Smet showing exactly what was installed to your insurance company. They don't need to know how our implants differ from an actual total hip replacement. .. This is more information than they need to know, which may hurt you in the end. Did not receive copies of the hospital bill yet. Good luck with your BHR > Hi &! > I have the same signed insurance form and 3 bills (in Euros).
