Guest guest
As long as the FAA has responsibility for air safety, it is hard for the states to get involved. I agree, State EMS Directors who regulate and license ambulance services (air and ground) should develop a template set of rules that reduce the risk in areas where the FAA doesn't control. I know where your reason for specifically calling out Gov. is coming from. There were two air ambulance crashes in New Mexico, but no one of any political stripe tried to shine any lights on Gov. . The ignorance of one voter in a democracy impairs the security of all. -- F. Guest guest
I’ll go back to the basic fact. Someone, somewhere that has the power needs to step up and get this under control, because it can be controlled. Attending funerals and passing the ball back and forth or mixing it up with other issues will not fix the problem. If you held the folks that called the helo responsible I bet you would see many of them fly. Guest guest
As a former flight paramedic I can remember close calls on flights that had not medical necesity for air transport. Facilities and providers need to keep this in mind when requesting air transport. I also agree something needs to be done. God bless all that were involved and their families.
