Hi Al,

Smile......... I don't think you would have a band long with my

singing...........

Re preop exercises.......... I was pretty limited by having a fused hip pre

op but quickly wished I had done more to strengthen my arms post op when I

was on crutches 6 weeks....... That may not matter for those not to have

that joy.............

However, others take to the water which is kinder on crunching hip bones and

just try to do what they can to strengthen any muscles

possible...........This can be done with either simply swimming and/or do

some leg swinging movements........... the water will provide support while

giving resistance and you can get various gadgets to increase the resistance

if you really want to get serious..............a noodle is a lot of

fun...........

Anything done, even if you just remember to squeeze the butt muscles every

time you think of it during the day has to help.......... I used intense

mental concentration to move what muscle cell was left in a couple of parts

of my thigh and even that helped when it came to regaining some control over

the leg post op..........

Yes, that's true.

Any particular hints about what kind of excercise can be particularly

good to do during pre-op time? If so, please let me know (I'm sure

I'm not the only one with this question..)
