UUSC members support farm workers and intensify pressure on Pictsweet For several years now, farm workers employed by Pictsweet Mushroom Farms inVentura County north of Los Angeles have struggled to negotiate a UnitedFarm Worker (UFW) contract that would insure a decent pension plan, anadequate medical plan and improved safety standards. Members of theUnitarian Universalist Service Committee in Southern California and membersof Unitarian Universalist congregations from the area have long providedsupport for the farm workers' struggle.
