Guest guest
Hi all, I hope I'm not being too cheeky here from the amazing response I got after Bonnie posted the link to my cat article, I thought some of you might be interested to read my latest published piece all about my encounters with chestnut horses during my riding career. I hope you don't mind and that you enjoy it too. http://www.thejoyofhorses.com/july04/frameset.htm Thank you for your support for my writing work by the way, it helps enormously as I struggle to achieve my new goals in my new career. Well I had another visit to my local hospital again today (I'm really thinking of just renting a treatment cubicle, it would be so much easier!) This time it was just a PT appointment and thankfully the news on my post op shoulder is still pretty good. My mobility and rotation is as far as it ever likely to go considering the major changes Mac has made to my shoulder structure and my strength is progressing well too. I do still have an imbalance in the firing mechanism of the muscles in both shoulders however and a slipping tendon in my left particularly. We fear that a lot of this may be due to my severely rotated and winged scapula, which are affecting my whole shoulder function. We are working hard at tightening the muscles holding my shoulder blades, but so far there hasn't been much improvement. My PT said they actually look even worse this time, " sticking out a mile even through my T-shirt " . I'm going to keep working as hard as I can on this, but the PT has warned that Mac may be concerned about the situation and consider giving me a little " help " with the getting them back into position. Fingers crossed it doesn't come to that though as it's bad enough he'll probably be getting to " play " (as he calls operating on me!) with my stuffed up wrist without giving him a pair of shoulder blades to go at as well!! Oh thanks for all the info about the barium swallow by the way - I'm still not relishing the idea! I don't have a date for that or my MRI yet, but hopefully it will be soon. I'll keep you posted on how my tests and appointments go though I promise. Thanks again for all your time and support. Take care and please know I'm thinking of you all. Love and hugs....Jo xxx
