Guest guest
In my younger years I slept soundly. Now not so much. Any creek or bump in the night will wake me, and even tho I can go back to sleep, it makes for a lot of broken sleep so I don’t feel refreshed when I do get up. We have paper thin walls so even shutting my door doesn’t block out the noise. If I don’t get my needed sleep I am soooooooooooo crabby! Then I fall asleep in my chair at my desk, and later watching TV, and I don’t like that much. So I would have to have a cat that knows how to tiptoe thru the house, and have a muted meow button. Lol…. Well not really, just kidding but you get the idea. Lol… hugs Jackie -----Original Message-----From: MSersLife [mailto:MSersLife ] On Behalf Of ThallasSent: Tuesday, August 30, 2011 8:16 PMTo: MSersLife Subject: RE: Surprise! It's a girl! I don’t think I ever had a mellow cat since Freckles and that was years ago. She slept with me, but then I wasn’t so needy for sleep then. We had a foster older cat a few years ago, and she was so use to being fed at 5 am, well I don’t get up until 6 am, and so she would jump at the door to try and get me up. We weren’t allowed to keep her outside, so we had to give her back.  I like the sound of Kee-shah, and how fitting since she was found after the rain. Guest guest
It's so sad that people just abandon animals like that. My mother in law tells the story that when she got their old beagle, Tippy (died before I met my husband), she was close to full blooded, a guy was selling the pups for a quarter - she and friend both bought one, because the guy said what he didn't sell he was going to drown. Turns out Tippy was true to being a beagle - she would grab ahold of an o'possum, and just shake it and kill it. She also was so strong, she'd brace the muscles in her neck, (when she was out on a line with a choke chain) run out to the end of the line, and actually pop the choke chain off. Hubby said she loved to run. The next dog they had, Natasha, was as sweet as could be, too. She liked me fine, until hubby married me and then I took HER place and HER pillow on hubby's bed (we lived with his parents for two years) - then she was angry with me. She stayed angry with me until I had my oldest - she figured I gave her a baby to train. And train him she did. Once he was old enough to sit up, he would grab onto one of her toys, and she would pull him around the family room. I always said he learned how to treat animals by being around Natasha. And she would " guard " him and his brother. My mother in law babysat for me, and the boys were on the back porch while the remodeling guys were bringing stuff into my in-law's kitchen. She was fine, until my mother in law told her to protect the boys, and then she wouldn't start barking....she didn't want anyone around her boys. Tina Ah, so that means she was dropped off, and so young. L We had that happen once when we were living in the country up on the Island. We only had 2 cats, one a Sylvester type, and the other a Himalayan Siamese, and both of them did not like the newcomer. He was a sweet sweet guy, and we ended up giving him to someone else. I had an expectant momma dog, and wasn’t sure how many puppies she was carrying. Turned out to be 6, but 1 died. So we ended up with 2 cats, and 7 dogs for a while. Seems like no matter what you name a pet as time goes on other names get added! Lol… hugs Jackie

Guest guest
Jackie, that reminds me of my old deaf cat, Butch. We slept with our doors closed, but if he wanted in the room after we went to sleep, he would meow and run his paws down the door - and he was loud! Usually he wanted my brother's room, so my mom started telling him to make sure the cat was in his room before he went to sleep! And the cat's got so used to my mom's work schedule that on weekends, they would be meowing for breakfast at 5 am! Tina In my younger years I slept soundly. Now not so much. Any creek or bump in the night will wake me, and even tho I can go back to sleep, it makes for a lot of broken sleep so I don’t feel refreshed when I do get up. Guest guest
My hubby, not a cat person, got me a cat for graduation from Sanford-Brown. Hubby decided Isis wasn't going to sleep with us, but Isis had other ideas. First night, I'd wake up every couple of hours with the cat curled up next to me. I'd put him down on the floor, and I'd wake up later with him curled up again. Finally, I gave up and he slept with me.
