Regarding alcohol use and incarceration. That's great that someone is

monitoring the numbers over an extended period of time. Is the percentage

60% of total offenses for a given day that is monitored, or 60% of all

Latino migrant/ farmworker offenses for that day or for a specified period?

Such monitoring is possible where Daily Inmate Rosters are available (they

should be in most counties, with permission). I am curious how one defines

" Latino, " " migrant, " " farmworker, " from a Roster, or whether there is more

detailed data from a related source.

And, Lucila, thanks for the reference.

Regarding alcohol in camps, particularly comment " turn to alcohol to deaden

constant pain. " I was told by alcohol researchers that alcohol mitigates

(reduces) the hunger response.

Can LDN be taken with other medications such as tranquilizers or

chemotherapy? How about interactions with alcohol or tobacco?

LDN can be taken along with any other medication or substance, so long

as it is not narcotic-containing. Naltrexone is a pure opioid

antagonist and it will block the action of narcotics. Some examples of

narcotic-containing drugs are Ultram, morphine, Percocet, Duragesic

patch and any codeine-containing medication.

Hi ,

No one seems to have reported any problems with having beer or wine while on LDN.

[low dose naltrexone] RE: ALCOHOL use

It is okay to drink a moderate amount of alcohol while on LDN, but each of us reacts differently.

On alcohol and LDN. Since LDN is a lower dose of Naltrexone, originally developed as a drug to treat heroin addicts and alcoholics at a dose of 50 mg, some may experience discomfort with alcohol use. It would be unlikely, but possible to experience headache and lowered tolerance. Alcoholics experience what is clinically referred to as the beta endorphin priming effect when they drink alcohol. This means there is a 300% over the normal amount release, by the pituitary gland, of beta endorphin within 90 seconds of taking the first drink of beer, wine or spirits. This does not happen to the nonalcoholic. The major deterrent for the alcoholic who drinks while on Antibuse (Naltrexone 50 mg) would be severe headache. If someone on LDN was a potential alcoholic or say they had a genetic predisposition towards alcoholism they might experience some mild discomfort from alcohol while taking LDN.
