Guest guest
I have a friend who's jumping from paramedic to nursing school. Oddly, though, his RN program requires a CNA course completion certificate. Does anyone know of a CNA program that would be willing to look at his paramedic hours in comparison to the CNA program requirements? Thanks, Wes Ogilvie Austin, Texas Sent from my iPad
Guest guest
Interesting. I have heard of a lot of programmes requiring CNA cert in other states, but never in Texas. Perhaps this is something that is catching on. Although I never liked the piecemail approach to education, especially in EMS, I can see positives to this in nursing. As for getting an exemption as a medic, I doubt that would happen. Except for vital signs, there is nothing in a CNA course that has been covered by paramedic school. Your friend would be completely lost without taking that course. There's nothing more useless than a nurse who doesn't know how to properly give bedside care and make a bed with someone in it.
