Guest guest
Lorraine, I have missed your posts about your eye issues and apologize. I have articles for you to send to your doctor - one specifically about corneas and EDS, I'll post them to you now! Please keep me posted! Oh my gosh, I get so frustrated that the doctors know nothing about EDS! They should have learned SOMETHING about it in medical school! UGH! My eye doctor knew what it was, and left right then to refresh his memory to see what exactly to look for. I assume he looked on the internet or in one of his medical books. Well, Lorraine, at least you got it looked at and felt reassured that it wasn't an emergency (yet at least). I sure hope the drops help you with the pain and all, and that he can figure out what's going on! If he can't, he should refer you to an eye surgeon or a specialist that can reassess the situation. To be on the safe side, Lorraine, I wouldn't do anything very strenuous over the weekend. Try to rest and relax. My Mom had a hemorage in her eye a couple years ago. It just so happened that I was taking my Dad to the eye doctor that day, so I told Mom we would just take her also and have the doctor look at it. Was I glad we did that! He had a fit about her eye, and did give her drops as well, and wanted to see her in a week or so. At that time, he did some kind of laser treatment on her eye. In fact he may have done a couple, I don't remember for sure. He told her she may lose the sight in that eye, as it was a very bad hemorage. Thank God, everything went just great, and she did NOT lose the sight in her eye; however, the eye doctor has told her several times that she is the ONLY person he's known who hasn't lost the vision with a hemorage that bad and that she's one lucky woman! I guess that's why I was so concerned for you, Lorraine. I still am - I feel uneasy that he didn't know what was going on. I hope I'm not frightening you - that's not my intent - but I just want you to be sure that you get an answer! Vision is such a horrible thing to lose! Please take good care and let me know what else happens, OK? I will continue to pray for you! Love Lana
