I have an idiopathic case of (hopefully) unilateral AVN in my left

hip. My doctor ran some tests to see if he could figure out why. I

have a mild Factor S deficiency and a slight Factor C defiency. My

primary doctor said that I don't need to see a Hematologist, the only

significance is that I need to stay on anti-coagulants longer than most.

Has anyone else had this problem? My surgery will be August 11th.

How long do they usually keep you on anti-coags (blood thinners)? Do

they usually use Heparin, Coumadin or something else?
