I have brought up switching pain meds to my family dr but she will have

nothing of it. One of the things my pain specialist in Hamilton had set out in

the beginning was a cap on how high I would go on oxycontin. If it wasn't

giving me relief I would ween off it and then try something else. Since I am

not close to him (I live north of Londdon) he is not my primary perscribing

physician my family Dr is. She put me over the cap they had agrred upon and

didn't follow his advice on a couple other pain related matters he is no longer

involved in that part of my care. I agree that a new type of long acting pill

is the way to go but she doesn't. Thanks for giving me options to discuss with

my Dr.
