Guest guest
After my last surgery (shoulder arthroscopic reconstruction (thermal capsular shrinkage + clean up)) I was put on large dose Vitamin C to aid healing (3 grams(3,000mg's)a day) as well as Zinc complex once a day again as it aids healing and I was also put onto a high protein diet again this is supposed to aid healing. The one thing I did want to mention to you (because it wasn't mentioned to me until months down the track by a pharmacist) is that I was told Large dose Vitmain C intake can reduce the effectiveness of the oral contraceptive pill, so if you need to you may need to take further precautions while taking the large dose C and for about 1 month after you stop taking it (I know this doesn't affect all females as not everyone take the pill (OCP) but incase you do and don't want an unplanned pregnancy I thought I would inform you. As the doctors didn't see fit to warn me and luckily, I wasn't at risk at the time but still it would havebeen nice to know, just in case (I am in a long term relationship after all)...
