Guest guest
I looked back in my records and found that I have ;been complaining of a very sore shoulder for 1 1/2 years. I had a steroid shot that didn\'t help last year, so i assumed it came from my neck. When I had surgery in January, the left arm (with the sore shoulder was stretched out and fastened to a board and my head was turned to the right. I was sure I had a neck injury due to the position and have been getting shots in my neck with no result. I had a cervical MRI but nothing could be seen because I have plates from C3-T1. Then I had a myelogram but that was inconclusive, so I\'m now thinking that the neck and shoulder pain are not related or it is TOS thoracic outlet syndrome which will cause shoulder pain and pain radiating down the left side of my arm into the last 2 fingers. I think we all need anatomy courses so we can do self-diagnosis in order to figure out what doctor to see. I finally made an appointment with a shoulder surgeon for next week. So now I have a hand surgeon, shoulder surgeon, knee surgeon, lumbar spine surgeon (all orthos) , a neurosurgeon for cervical spine, endocrine surgeon, oncological surgeon along with a rheumatologist, internist, pain specialist, gynacologist, oncologist, dermatologist, neurologist, endocrinologist and geneticist! I also see a GI doc, an ENT( not to mention a dentist and periodontist .) Who did I leave out? plastic surgeon!
