Emergency Medical Services: Functions in Incident Command System – P166 Pilot Offering The United States Fire Administration (USFA), Department of Homeland Security, is conducting a pilot course at the National Emergency Training Center (NETC) in Emmitsburg, land for the newly developed 2-day course Emergency Medical Services: Functions in Incident Command System (P-166). The National Fire Academy (NFA) will be delivering this pilot offering August 21-22, 2010. Students will arrive Friday August 20 and depart Sunday August 22, 2010. Stipends are not available for this offering and transportation costs are the responsibility of the student. Housing will be provided on the NETC Campus. Course Description: Students will practice use of the Incident Command System in coordination with other public safety responders. As a follow-up to ICS-100 and ICS-200 training, this course will present scenarios requiring responders to structure their EMS resources within the guidance of NIMS ICS, as appropriate to the needs of the different incident types. Through simulation and role-playing, students will demonstrate the implementation of EMS components in an ICS system at medium- or large-sized incidents. Target Audience: Emergency response personnel with responsibilities to implement the initial EMS functions of an Incident Command System at medium- or large-sized incidents. Class Size: 22 Length: 2 days Prerequisites: ICS 100 level and ICS 200 level training.
