Guest guest
I asked my surgeon about this in relation to future invasion dental work the other day at my (routine) checkup, to find out what is the evidence-based opinion. He did point out that even cleaning one's teeth stirs up the oral bacteria. However, based on the evidence, he didn't consider antibiotics necessary for dental work. However, as I have other problems, he did't rule out my using antibiotics for invasive dental work. I guess it is up to me. I did take antibiotics, from my GP, when having a dental scale-and-clean in the early weeks post-op last year.
