..Good luck tomorrow Tina. I can empathize over the UTI's since I've had them for OMG, over 40 yrs. I've got an extra kidney, a funny shaped little bladder, 40% reflux and diverticulosis of the bladder. I can't take antibiotics but I take a urinary antibacterial daily and when it bothers me like now, I up the vitC and lots and lots of water.

Sorry too about your son's phone. I do hope it turns up tomorrow and let us know how you made out with the dr .... hugs, Cait

Appt tomorrow morning

So, I finished my antibiotics yesterday, and today, first thing, well, it was uncomfortable using the bathroom. That and the fact that I'm still having MS flare type symptoms make me think I've still got this stupid UTI....which has only happened to me 17 years ago, when I was pregnant - had 2 UTI's like that. I've got major muscle spasms through the left side of my body....still.....so my left side feels really week. Today the torso hasn't been so bad, but the leg has. So I guess, wish me luck. It's first thing in the morning - after we drop the boys off at school, I see my medical doctor's nurse practitioner. Evenutally, I need to get in to see my urologist, but I haven't had any luck in scheduling appointments when I need them.Youngest's son's phone got stolen today. PE is his last class of the day. He set it on the bench in the locker room next to his locker while he changed back into his regular clothes, then forgot to grab it, and left. By the time he got back to the locker room, it was gone, no one had turned it in anywhere, and the lockers that didn't have locks on them have been searched. It still hasn't been turned on, so I'm hoping that someone just grabbed it meaning to give it to him tomorrow. Plus the phone is password protected, so whoever has it couldn't use it anyway. But hubby didn't have insurance on the phone, so we are either out the money to purchase another one, or to buy off the contract if it doesn't turn up. Hopefully it will turn up tomorrow.Tina

Well, I got the same result as last week - some leukocytes in my urine, and she's going to send it out to be cultured.  Last time the culture came back contaminated, so she's hoping she'll get a result this time.  In the mean time, she's ordered more antibiotics for me.  I mean, I can tell it wasn't as bad as last week.  This is just frustrating.  I guess the Macrobid didn't get rid of it completely.  Now hopefully the culture comes back before the nurse practitioner goes into labor (she was due this week, AND STILL WORKING), otherwise I may have to call searching around for the results.

As for the phone, still no sight of it, and it still hasn't been turned on.  And since it hasn't been turned on, we can't freaking track it either - although if it was still in the school building, we wouldn't be able to track it there because in the building itself you don't get reception.

Thanks nne.  At least I'm not as bad as last week.  Although I was tempted to get my cane last night, I made it through without it, and really my only MS symptoms coming from this is the muscle spasticity and the weakness.  And I am grateful, at least, that I actually had a UTI symptom this time - although it was only one - so at least I know that it's the UTI and not something else going on.  Most of the time I don't get UTI symptoms.

Thank you.  Although I don't quite see this as an update, but the nurse practitioner seemed to think it was beneficial that my ms symptoms flared up with a UTI since I generally don't get symptoms.  No, I don't think of that as beneficial.

..Okay I'm in the midst of fighting a UTI now and I've noticed my left side is bugging me. Spasms running all the way up the leg at night and increased numbness in my left foot. You mean it might be related to my urinary thingie????

Actually I'm hoping you'll say yes cause a little part of me is afraid this is just more progression that is here to stay ... hugs, Cait

..Okay I'm in the midst of fighting a UTI now and I've noticed my left side is bugging me. Spasms running all the way up the leg at night and increased numbness in my left foot. You mean it might be related to my urinary thingie????

Actually I'm hoping you'll say yes cause a little part of me is afraid this is just more progression that is here to stay ... hugs, Cait

Yes!  I always get some MS symptoms when I get a UTI.  This time, for a few days I was in full flare type mode, and then for a while spasticity and pain in my wrist and shoulder, and now I'm back to full flare type symptoms.  Starting my second week of antibiotics.  My MS doc always checks for a UTI first when I get flares.  Well, she used to, then I just started having my doctor check me for them before I called her.
