Guest guest
Hi I recommend you ask your doctor if you should stop running immediately and find other ways to get fit that don't have impact; you are probably damaging your hip by high impact activities. If you are such a good candidate for the surgery, find out if you can get in on a study they may be doing on the Durom implant; they probably want to have lots of patients with good results. Personally, I gave up waiting, and went to England for surgery, and I don't regret it one bit. I got my life back a lot faster. But I realize that the costs of going to Europe are prohibitive for many people. The BCMA would love it if you go to their website (www.bcma.org, works better with Internet Explorer than Netscape) and take their waiting list survey, plus add your story to their waitlist story collection. n in Vancouver rBHR Oct.17/03 McMinn
