Guest guest
What really got me depressed is finding out that I'm carying around 35 pounds of fat! I only weigh 135. That just grossed me out. ----------- Get over it. At 35 pounds of fat, you are still only at 26 percent body fat - which is the low of end of the acceptable scale and just above the mark for " fitness. " The myth of someone being so " cut and ripped " that they have zero percent body fat is just that - a myth. There is a minimum percentage of body fat that is considered essential to sustain life. That minimum is higher for women than men. Current guidelines break body fat into four categories: essential, athletic, fitness and acceptable. There are also different ranges based on age. Classification Women (% Fat) Men (% Fat) Essential Fat 10-12 percent 2-4 percent Athletes 14-20 percent 6-13 percent Fitness 21-24 percent 14-17 percent Acceptable 25-31 percent 18-25 percent Age Women Men 18-39 years 21-32 percent 8-19 percent 40-59 years 23-33 percent 11-21 percent 60-79 years 24-35 percent 13-24 percent
Guest guest
ok, but now I'm confused. He told me my body fat percentage was higher than that, then calculated that 35 lbs was fat. The percentage was like twice what it should have been. I think around 40%. I'm gonna go ask him again today to get it straight. I know women have much more body fat than men. I'll find out later today.
