Don't know what you bi-laterals do. I've been throwing clothes on the floor for years until my surgeries. Undies on the floor, one foot in, next foot in, kick and wiggle enough until they rode up my legs enough for me to grab. Off was in reverse since I couldn't stand on one leg enough to take them off properly. Socks were another experience. I used to put them on with the sock helper (nylons too, but that is a whole 'nuther story, and can't have Alan snorting milk out his nose this late in the evening). To take the socks off, the left for example, I would stand on the toe of the left sock with my right foot and pull like crazy until the sock came off. Needless to say, I had lots of stretched out socks after awhile. I tried someone's " tuck the left leg under the right " method, and nearly fell out of my chair! So that method doesn't work for everyone-lol. For my right sock, I bend my right leg and rest it on top of my left. My left leg is nowhere near doing that yet, so I stick the left leg straight out and put the sock on it with the one-handed hold method. It still amazes me how different my legs are. Guest guest
Cindy I have never managed that 'bad leg in first' rule.....but I have become expert now at dropping undies onto the floor so that a little of each leg hole shows...then I wriggle good leg in first, then bad, then lunge down with the oldest resurface side to catch a wisp of material and yank it up. It gives one a sense of achievement first thing in the morning!! ine 4/2003 3/2004 > > >Good Lord, folks! Didn't they teach you the " undies law? " Bad leg in > >first, then good leg.
