My husband had a mole on his arm, ignored it until it started to bleed and then was diagnosed with melanoma. The cancer went to his brain and he died a few months later. Get to the Dr.!!!

Subject: Should/must I make an appointment? OT

This is most likely a silly and unnecessary concern/question, but the thing is I have a mole (if that's the word) on the back of my neck (or just below the neck, is perhaps a more accurate description) that has started to feel strange this past couple of days (sore to the touch, a little bit achy), it's bleeding (but only ever so little) and has developed a bit of a scab, or scab like tissue, on top. And the skin around it has turned reddish.

Now, on one hand I know that funny acting moles should be looked up (and possibly removed) due to cancer risk. But on the other hand I also just hate to go to the doctor's office for silly little things (like when I had to make an appointment to get a bit of glass out of my finger the other year). And a barely bleeding area smaller than even a tiny coin is certainly a supersilly little thing.

So...I guess what I am asking is: Surely this could be something completely harmless that could be ignored till it goes away? Right?

Reb,

Do NOT mess around with this. Get to the doctor. You are in my prayers. This is

not a silly thing.
