There was two that were transported to Parkland Burn Center with 2nd degree

burns, not sure if he was one of them or not.

EASTLAND, TX – While responding to a rural fire in southern Eastland

County, Eastland Volunteer Fireman M. lost his life.

The

fire that claimed ’ life was one of five Eastland County fires

started shortly before noon today. It started near the Eastland County

community of Kokomo and was pushed by high northwest winds towards the

city of Gorman causing its evacuation. At this time the fire is not

contained.

51, has been a member of the Eastland Fire Department for the past 11

years, and was a 10 year member of the Sachse Department before moving

to Eastland. He and his wife , managed an Eastland business and

have two daughters, Kateland and Karley.

was pronounced dead at about 2:30 p.m. by Justice of the Peace Precinct.

say we are shocked and saddened by this tragedy is a huge

understatement,†said Eastland Mayor Mark Pipkin. “This loss makes us

even more appreciative of the dedication of our many firemen and other

emergency personnel. Our thoughts and prayers go out to and the

rest of Greg’s family.â€

“Greg was a seasoned veteran and

invaluable member of the department and community and we are all at a

loss for words at this time,†said Eastland Fire Chief Arther.

As of the time of this release numerous fires remain out of control and are

being fought by numerous emergency personnel.
