Hi Cheryl,

I'm 7 weeks post-op and would love to go to Spain (thanks!)...

In fact, I went to Mexico for a brief vacation at 5 weeks and was fine. The

hard,

narrow economy-class seats weren't ideal - that was my only issue. I sat on a

whole wad of those pathetic airplane cushions to ease the ache, but should

have brought my own high-density foam. At 9 weeks, this may not even be a

problem for you. I'm already sitting a lot better at 7.... mind you, your flight

is a

lot longer. Be sure to get up and walk the aisle as much as possible. Of course,

business or first class would be ideal!

Cheryl,

If I was you I'd go for the holiday. Flying over to Spain isn't long

or particulary difficult even after an opperation and seeing as our

American friends fly back home to the States, so soon after they

have had the op, leads me to believe it isn't too much of a big

deal. Where ever you are, you will be recovering and what better

place to recover in, but Spain!! I spend longer than the adverage

flight to singapore sat in my computor chair avioding going to bed

and I haven't had DVT yet. If you arrange beforehand with the

airline they will get you one of those carpetcars with the red

flashing lights on( what are they called?) to pick you up or get you

a wheel chair.

It might be just what you need, to rest in the warm climate, as long

as you take it easy as much as you can.

Good news about your operation, hang on in there its not long now.

Zoe (on the appointment system to see Mr. Treacy!)
