Guest guest
I agree that 's article is hard to find. would it be too much trouble to put a link to your document under more intuitive sections like maybe " nutrition " or " life after surgery " ? Anyway, it is currently located at www.activejoints.com under section " Total Hip replacement news " towards the end under the title " Proposed Metal Defense protocol " . The article addresses the use of vitamins/supplements related to potential/perceived issues with Cobalt & Chromium . Also there is an extensive discussion starting with message 22843 " Why chromium ions don't really worry me (long and boring) " , with many follow up responses. Hopes this helps. Guest guest
Thanks Ed. Y'all can ignore my previous message asking where to find the file. Guest guest
I suppose I could add another link to it on the " Life After Surgery " page, I thought it only pertained to the metal-on-metal THR's and the resurfacing, so it appears on those two pages, in addition to the News page that is mentioned. I've been meaning to do an update to the information, the current version doesn't actually name a multi-vitamin that doesn't contain chromium, that GNC product was discovered by a surfacehippy member after it was written. Other topics I'd like to add are a caution about Vitamin A overuse (as has been discussed here) in the antioxidants section, and some details about recent measurements of actual metals levels in patients, and a comparison of those to workers with industrial exposure to chromium. I've had some correspondence with some people in the ortho industry on the latter issue, but haven't put all the facts together. Also there was a recent paper by a noted industrial metals safety researcher who opined that the stated risks of chromium to workers have been inflated by sloppy reporting of in-vitro experiments. - > I agree that 's article is hard to find. would it be too > much trouble to put a link to your document under more intuitive > sections like maybe " nutrition " or " life after surgery " ? > > Anyway, it is currently located at www.activejoints.com under > section " Total Hip replacement news " towards the end under the > title " Proposed Metal Defense protocol " .
