My children will probably choose not to have children; I probably will not be a grandmother in the future. 2. I often feel looking back that I have wasted my life without the diagnosis; that I would have had a different life had I known. It seems sometimes as a loss of past life; and a loss of the rest of my life. 3. A loss of hope for the future sometimes; 'I feel crappy today, tomorrow I will feel crappier " > Name three things that have positively changed your life because of EDS 1. I now have a diagnosis; a reason; and that in itself is wonderful, a relief, an awknowledgement, a reality where none before existed. 2. On a 'good day'; since becoming disabled and stopping work, I bask in the calm of knowing that I don¹t have to live in the rat race, where so often my attempts fell short, and I thought it was me. 3. I am more able to say 'no' to demands put on me and how they wear me down. Prior to knowing I would say 'yes' and then feel like a failure. Guest guest
As a mom of an EDSer... (although I'm believing more all the time. I have it too)...... Name three things you can't do because of EDS 1. I can no longer work out of the home. This has put a terrible financial burden on my husband. 2. I can't go on vacations with my husband even for an overnight. 3. I can no longer camp, go boating for an afternoon, visit my son in Chicago, make any plans that make me unavailable to my son. Name three things that have positively changed your life because of EDS 1. Made me more aware and understanding of people with mental and physical handicaps. 2. Made me more aware of the truely important things in life. 3. Have learned to disagree out load with Drs,.. they are not gods! No longer a YES person, doing things I really didn't want to do, but did to please someone or avoid confrintation. It has made me stronger, even when I feel weak.
