Guest guest
Yesterday would have been my dad's birthday. It was an emotional day for me even though my dad has been gone since '83. How could it have been that long ago? He was born on September 4, 1900. He was 51 when I was born. He was businessman and owned a number of grocery stores. He traveled the country with his parents as a young man. His father was also a grocer and they opened and operated grocery stores from upstate New York to Ohio, Michigan, Florida and California. Then finally dad met and married my mother in Georgia and they moved to Arizona in the 30s, settling in Tucson. He was also an antique collector, especially of antique cars. He restored antique cars and rebuilt the bodies of the antique wooden panel type trucks. I'm talking cars and trucks from before the 20's. I used to love going with him on his antique hunting trips--we went to California many times and all the other western states looking for antiques. I got my love of genealogy from my dad and his mother. My dad was ill a lot and I have often wondered if he has undiagnosed MS. He had bouts of fatigue, vision pain/problems, weakness... stuff like that.hugs to all SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. I hate going to the Dr’s, and would rather ride it out. If I get too sick I figure Steve could always call an ambulance. It’s just too hard to even get my chair in the van. Not a lot of head room. Then I figure what can the Dr’s do there that I can’t do at home? My Dr. sometimes will give me antibiotics without me coming in, so if I think I need them, I just call. It’s always hard to get thru a loved one’s birthday when they are no longer with us. My dad’s is in Oct., and I’m always sad on his day. Glad that Challis and everyone are on the mend.Hugs, Jackie From: MSersLife [mailto:MSersLife ] On Behalf Of SharonSent: Sunday, September 04, 2011 1:16 PMTo: MSersLife Subject: Re: Flu stuff Sharon........RE: Jackie......Re: uh oh! daughter's family sick Hi Jackie No, she (daughter) didn't go to the doctor. She is as bad as my dad was about that. When he was sick he would say he was too sick to go to the doctor. When he was better he said he didn't need to go because he wasn't sick. lol Btw, today would be my dad's birthday. Challis says they are all getting better. But I know her hubby didn't work a single day last week. hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product.
