The 'mind your mitochondria' clip has recently been mentioned on a couple of other Yahoo sites and I thought also on this one.

Pretty amazing - and brilliant that the lady concerned is a doctor!

I think it would be well worth a try. It certainly does not go against anything in the Weston Price web site (which is currently one of my favourite web sites)

From the little I know, some of the effectiveness may have to do with the minimisation of all omega 6 oils. The standard modern diet is very heavy in omega 6 and S Christie stated that we need omega 6 to omega 3 ratios to be close to 1:1 and ours is usually closer to 50:1 (!).

The more out of kilter that ratio, the worse the inflammation.

I recently saw -but cannot remember where - that we should aim for a daily maximum of 6.7g omega 6 and 1g omega 3 oil.

The heaviest contributors to our imbalance are likely the refined (degraded) vegetable oils and margarine, now also known as trans fatty acids. Close behind would be the processed foods followed by animal protein foods from animals that have not been fed the right diet for their species and breed. (meat, dairy and poultry)

BUT Dr Wahl's approach goes further. She worked out what nutrients were needed then investigated ways of getting then from real foods rather than supplements.

Mind you, I would find eating the volumes required somewhat challenging! I have no doubts that even the attempt to follow the plan would ensure I did not eat many grains or non organic animal sourced foods.

Amazing, Nukhet. Definitely worth pursuing. I for one, have horrible eating habits, and am willing to look into this. My acupuncturist swears by kale. Unfortunately, I am a carb 'seeker' and I KNOW this is very bad. I think perhaps my New Years' resolution should be to transform my diet. I also want to read my Bible more...Anyone else with resolutions?love you, Nukhet,KateSubject: Fwd: Please watch this link...To: "mserslife" <mserslife >Date: Tuesday, December 27, 2011, 7:14

Good luck on that, . That's a great one to aspire to! I quit nearly 25 years ago. I think the price of cigarettes these days is downright daunting! I think they were .85 or so when I bought them. My inlaws saved up the $ when they quit, and they had enough in a year to go on a cruise--which they did.blessings,Kate

PS - I did try Champix.

I consider myself a woman of peace - but while I was on Champix I found myself having to fight off the desire/need/impulse to commit violence.

A friend nearly killed her child whilst on Champix.

Decided not worth it.

I am hoping to be prescribed LDN - which not only helps with MS and anxiety, but has also been used (at higher doses) to break addictions.
