Guest guest
Hey Hippies! Ok, so I finally got all my x-rays " digitized " and sent an email over to Dr. DeSmet yesterday, and he has already replied to me! That's great, but I'm having trouble decyphering his reply! Can anybody help me? Here it is in all it's glory: " Dear You sea very well, you have worn out your cartilage and you have now osteo-arthritis pain. That is the reason why I never have done a hemi and always a total! I think we indeed can try to get the resurfacing of and totalise another resurfacing! I know that the hemi you received we normally can not totalise to a full conserve plus!! If it would be possible I would perform that less invasive surgery, where I indeed have already experience with!!!! Can you let me know your exact dat of surgery and exact date of birth!!! " My situation is one where Amstutz put in a Hemi back in 99 and it's not working, but I don't feel comfortable going back to him or anyone in the US to have the whole thing put in. I think he's saying that he can try to take out the Conserve+ and replace it w/ a full BHR, but that " finishing off " the replacement is impossible. Am I on the right track here? Let me know! Sincerely, P.S.: Any ideas on how to fund the trip to Belgium? $15,000 is an awful lot of bake sales...
