Guest guest
Hi Jill A wire that would likely be " in-between " the flimsy(ness) of pipe cleaner and yet not as heavy or difficult to use as coat hangers...would be floral wire ...which comes in a few different gauges, (and are nice to use...(the thicker/firmer is used for the 'base' when making the handle part of bridal bouquets and lighter one can be used for more delicate additions...also there is coloured floral tape...not highly 'sticky' but really lightweight and easy to 'cover' the wire (wings) with ...(took a commercail floral arranging course about a hundred years ago Also for the wings themselves...if you want something a little 'brighter' colour wise you could try buying several different colours of the 'cellophane' which likely comes in sheets...and glue gun them on...? I would bet that you can get all of these items at a s craft shop...and none of them should be very expensive...they usually have a person who can be helpful with queries about the items and how to use them (especially in their floral department...I would think) hope this helps give you some ideas...
