Steve,

Not sure who your carrier is, but, for one example of what you'll

need to file a stateside claim after a Belgian resurf, check out a

post of June 26, this year. Subject line: Re:Whoo-hoo to Jim--CIGNA

paid for 75%. The Poster is " Jim V.S " .

I made a copy of the post for myself, since I'm also a CIGNA PPO

subscriber. Good Luck.

Thanks Alan for the info on insurance, now won't you join me in

Belgium in late September? How did you digitize your x-rays and were

they ok for Dr. De Smet?

Mark...

I wish it were a matter of my choosing the date. I'm still waiting

for CIGNA to me what they'll pay for, or not. Dr. de Smet says, from

the time we agree he'll do the surgery, there's a waiting period of

about two and a half months, so I'm right at the end of the window

for a late Sept. Belgian resurf.

But...nothing goes in a straight line.

I'll let you know what happens.

All the best,

Alan

Alan,

Thanks for the information on x-rays. I am going to try and do this

in next day or two.

I agree with your thinking -

if you don't get a penny back, it will be the best money you ever

spend

......this is from someone who washes and reuses zip lock bags!!

I would say best of luck, but with Dr. DeSmet, you can save up your

luck for something else - he is dear and amazing.

Also, Dr. Mont recommened a THR for me a year ago - said if I

insisted on resurfacing - after it is cleared with the FDA - he

would do 2 operations - one to graft bone and the next to do the

resurfacing. From what I could gather, Dr. DeSmet spent 5 minutes

longer with me than my hippy siblings (i.e. 55 minutes!), and I

couldn't be happier.
