Hi, I too had a resurf on the 2nd June and had problems with blood levels. You don't say if you had a blood transfusion? I did and felt much better for it!! I am also taking iron tablets are you? I am doing similar amount of exercise as you so we are probably doing ok! I was glad to hear I am not the only one sleeping for much of the day!!!! Take care and keep in touch so we can compare notes!!!! cheryl x > How much time did you need to get back at your normal energy level. > > Also I'm still struggeling with ajusting the recovery schedule. MIjke, I really struggled with it after my second hip. I went into the second one with my hematocrit *just* above the level where they would do the surgery. Dr. Boyd wasn't terribly concerned as we had two pints of blood in reserve for me. I got both of those back, and was still low. Took iron pills, stayed away from dairy products (binds the iron so your body can't use it), and took lots of vitamin C (helps the iron work better). It took a good three weeks before I felt like more than a bump on a log, and probably a good couple of months before I really felt peppy. Guest guest
Hi Mijke I took multivitamins (taking care not to chose ones with Chronium in them) each day after the op, and will continue. I also ate masses of iron rich foods, making sure that I pre-empted constipation with 'Senegal' tablets (mostly sena pods). You sound in very good form if you are only one week post op. ine RHS 04/2003 LHS 03/2004 > Hello everyone, > > I have had a BHR surgery on my left hip last week by dr. K. de Smet. (2nd of > June).
