Thanks nne,...well I can't say it's been an easy marriage, not that I'm not grateful for all Steve has done for me. He's been a good provider, and in the beginning we had so much fun together, but then after the kids came a lot of things changed. That was 3 years later and things started to come out that wasn't realized when we first got together. My advice to ANYONE is to have a long courtship before you get married. We only knew each other for 2 weeks before we moved in together, and that was out of necessity. Steve just got home from Vietnam, and I was living with my parents after a bad breakup with someone I was supposed to marry down in Florida. So we both wanted to get out of our parents' house. We worked together and started dating when we decided to share an apt. that was during our " hippie " days, B/C. [before we became Christians] it’s not that I don't love him, but we ended up being so totally opposite in our ideas, we fought quite a bit. Lots of counseling, and praying helped. We've made it work if for nothing else but the commitment we made in our vows. For better or worse. J and now in sickness and health. It makes me wonder if all the stress contributed to us both getting ill? Hugs, Jackie 40 years!> > Well at 4pm 40 years ago I was married to Steve. 40 years!

Well at 4pm 40 years ago I was married to Steve. It was a hot 85 degrees out, I

wore my mother-in-laws wedding dress and the ceremony was outside at my dad’s

house. I was sick with walking pneumonia, and full of codeine cough syrup, and

Steve was full of scotch and pot. Lol…we had about 50 guests, and the only

things that went wrong was my hair had to be fixed after I specifically told the

hairdresser not to make it into a “beehive†style, which she did. Luckily my

friends mother was able to redo it. Then I got into an argument with my step-mom

because she wanted the wedding cake outside, in the heat and bugs all around

before the reception, and I wanted to keep it inside in the AC and serve it from

there. We ended up keeping it inside. Oh, and the last thing was my dear

newlywed hubby invited his army buddy and his wife to spend the night with us!!!

I cried in the bedroom all night. I guess he figured since we had been living

together for 5 months it wasn’t any big deal. WRONG! Men can be so dense at

times.

Well I’ll let you know what he got me later today. I got him a beautiful Seiko

watch. It is polished silver with a black face with white hands and red second

hand. 40th is the ruby one, and the red in the watch was the closest I could get

to red to signify rubies. ☺

We don’t have anything big planned, but to bbq some steaks. Its suppose to be

hot and I have to stay indoors so we will probably watch a movie.

Same’o’same’o. but we’ll be together so I guess that’s the most

important thing.

Hugs to all, Jackie
