I know this is old news by now, Jackie, but if they did take Christian away - and not being in a car seat I don't think is grounds, they would try to place him with family first.  When my sister lost custody of her kids for a short time, her oldest had been spending the night with a friend, and that family agreed to keep him until Kim could get off her " emergency plan. "   Her youngest went to my parent's house for that time.

Hi Kate, that’s what we thought too. It’s a shame that he felt the need to pull them over just because they pointed at his unmarked car. He was parked across the street so for him to say he saw Christian out of his seat was questionable. And now the judge won’t reduce the fines, but did order them to go to seat belt classes, and then the fee will be reduced. From what I was told this same cop has done this to several other motorists too.

Thank you for caring, and what’s NEW with you? Haven’t heard from you in a while. J

Hugs, Jackie

Geez, Jackie. That sounds like a cop who was bored and/or needed to fill a required amount of tickets. Crazy. Sharon used to work for CPS so I'm certain she can shed light on what would warrant a child be taken away. I'm certain Christian is safe. That's a really expensive ticket; and for each of them!

Know that you are loved,

The latest is my daughter and mostly her psychotic husband are afraid the state will take Christian from them because they got stopped by a cop for nothing they say, and the cop said he saw my grandson out of his car seat. They wrote letters refuting that claim to the judge, but the judge denied their testimony, and sited them for the full fine which was $142 each!!! Tina is collecting unemployment and her husband is on disability. They live below poverty level, and even tho they can make payments it will still be a hardship for them. They swear that Christian was NOT out of his seat, but the cop says he saw him looking out the back window. So Jim got his ticket for child endangerment, and Tina got hers for not wearing her seatbelt properly. She has a hard time with the shoulder strap cutting into her neck so sometimes she takes her arm out and holds the strap away from her neck. She still has the lap belt on. You’d think with as many drug problems they have in their town the police would go after bigger fish. Anyhow so now Jim has me all stressed about CPS taking my grandchild away. Christian would be traumatized so bad if that ever happened. They haven’t even left him with babysitters, so imagine if he was placed in a home with strangers. And if they did it while he was still recuperating from his operation. I shudder at the thought. L

Hugs, Jackie
