Guest guest Posted June 7, 2010 Report Share Posted June 7, 2010 Employment Opportunity EMS Quality Improvement Coordinator City of Arlington Fire Department $3,966 - $4,958 per month, depending on qualifications Coordinates the Fire Department's Quality Assurance / Quality Improvement program. The incumbent is responsible for developing and advancing the quality of practice through the provision of patient care, consultation, collaboration, education and research. Requires six years experience as a certified or licensed EMT- Paramedic, with at least two years experience in EMS program management; EMS System resource or dispatch management; Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) Instructor certification; bachelor's degree in nursing, allied or public health, or related field plus two years EMS experience preferred. Computer skills and record management data analysis experience strongly preferred. Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. This civilian position is part of a dynamic team of professionals that manages the Arlington Emergency Medical System (AEMS). This position requires the personal skills to be an effective leader and the ability to inspire individuals by communicating needed changes, motivating individuals to become active participating members of a team and encouraging self development through a leadership example approach. Must be able to objectively analyze data and strive to impart only the facts during the Continuous Quality Improvement process. This system is a high performance partnership with the City of Arlington's accredited 911 communications center, fire-based advanced life support first responders, a private ambulance contractor, and local hospitals. Research work with accredited chest pain, stroke, pediatric and trauma centers to coordinate efforts between EMS and receiving facilities. Development of specialized projects with the Medical Director such as cardiac arrest survival rates, evaluation of airway techniques, research projects or presentations. This position is not a field position, but is responsible for the behind the scenes research, development and analysis of operational components of the EMS system and report these findings to managers and executives in order to effect change within the system.
