Anyone tried drinking this in water please? Touted as a traditional

remedy, but just read on the net the opposite view, i.e. acid

dissolves calcium ...?

Margaret,

I don't have an answer to your apple cider vinegar question, but I

would suggest that you check out this website of Joe and Terry

Graedon:

http://www.healthcentral.com/peoplespharmacy/peoplespharmacy.cfm

They also host a radio program here locally in North Carolina which I

think is broadcast nationally via the local public radio stations.

(If you're very computer saavy, you might be able to figure out how

to pick it up!) At any rate, they're always discussing home remedies

for various medical conditions. As you would expect, arthritis gets

a lot of play.

I was also interested in your question of how to tell when you're

ready for surgery. I'm roughly in the same boat as you: 52, OA in

the right hip, moderate pain. What bothers me most is my back and

neck after a day on my feet teaching or after a long walk. By Friday

afternoons I feel as though I have been hit by a truck/lorry. My

situation is compounded by the fact that, as a teacher, if I don't

want to miss any work, the best time for surgery is in May. Well,

I've just blown the opportunity for this year. So now I have to

decide if I will be able to make it until next May.

At any rate, best of luck.
