Guest guest
Georgia Well honestly I haven't been handling the hypo well, I was only diagnosed a few weeks ago and my Dr. just told me to eat frequently, exercise, and avoid sugar. So since I know nothing about hypo I have been reading everything I can on the web, I joined a yahoo group to get info and I have been trying to write down all the things I eat/drink and how I feel to try and avoid triggers in the future. But there are a few things that I know are triggers that I am going to have a problem giving up like caffeine, the occasional glass of wine or beer, etc. I just want to get healthy already. The weight thing is an issue too since I just lost 30 lbs and had finally gotten control of my eating and cholesterol and now I have to eat all the time and I am already gaining. So If you have any pointers for me regarding the hypo, or fibro please share them Thanks For It is interesting that you have hypoglycemia with the fibro, as I do also. What a royal pain this is! I have to eat every two hours whether I am hungary or not and it has caused me to gain all kind of weight. How do you handle the hypo? Guest guest
It sounds kind of similar to pains I have because the pain has been moving to other areas of my abdomen aside from the right side, it has been moving to the center and left side and in the lower abdominal area as well. So when and if they find anything I will let you know. I just read your post about your gallbladder and pain. I am new so I am not real sure what is going on with you, but I have pain in the middle of my chest, more to the left, right around the ribcage. I do this occassionally and it will last a few weeks. Sometimes I feel as if I need to burp to make it go away, but that doesnt help. Once it was so bad I had a sharp pain in my upper left side like a running cramp only higher. I had to sit down. It is even sore if I push there. One of my other stressed out friends says she does this too and the doc said nothing is wrong with her so I assume it is stress or fibro. If this sounds similar to your pain please let me know.

You are not making any mistakes that I can see. Please don't get upset about things that are not meant to criticize but to help. I have tinnitus and I am a tinnitus support persons and music that is louder than the sound of a vacuum cleaner is hurting your ears. I was only trying to help but I think that I will take a vacation from helping. I am in too much pain to read about things that I have said that is upsetting. As my post being the only one to answer your post about headaches, I would guess that you will be answered in due time. Sometimes folks on this list have a lot of pain and other problems that they are focusing on and just didn't answer right away. We have just had a discussion of headaches not long ago. I would also like to say that I am a person who is outspoken and I say what I have to say in plain words as I did with you. You see, when I have a headache from the fibro, any noise makes it worse and loud music would have me climbing the walls. I see that in this, we are different in that loud music does not bother your headache. I am sorry that I upset you... Guest guest
, So glad to hear you are finally doing a little better. You have been in my prayers throughout your horrible ordeal. I am very worried about becoming addicted to the pain meds. I have been taking demerol or hydrocodone pretty regularly since this round started the middle of july. I think I had some minor withdrawls from pain meds after one of my surgeries. I had been on oxycodone for a couple of weeks. I had two or three nights of really bad anxiety and my legs just could not stay still. It was very minimal but was still bad enough to make me terrified of withdrawl. Hang in there. Re: Pain when I haven't eaten?? Dear , It sounds as if you are starting the recurrent stage. This does not need any food or drink to happen, this is not minor stuff!!! You will need medication for this the longer it goes on. The amount of time it takes to get over it and it comes out of the blue. I have never figure out what to do to stop it. That is what landed me in the hospital some 60+ times. It did more damage than some of my quack doctors. By the way, I do not nor ever had an addiction to alochol. It was liquid dilaudid, legal heroin. I did not even know I was hooked until the pump was decreased. Thanks for the prayers, it has taken ever last one of them to get me through this. I got outside and enjoyed the cooler temps today. I stayed out to long and got the shakes again and still trying to calm them. This group is surely the most caring group in the world. I have seen groups that wish death to its members. It seems the devil does his business anywhere, and we had a sample of that this weekend. Thank you, > Hello to all! Guest guest
, I was in a small hospital in Hopewell, VA (near Richmond). I think the name was Randolph Medical Center. They had an internal med doc taking care of me. The entire staff was very caring and compassionate. My family was having a stroke because I was in the hospital so far from home. (I live in north Alabama.) My husband ended up flying out there to be with me. I must say that I have good luck with my latest series of panc episodes. I have been to the emergency room 7 times since Jul 18th. 4 of the ER trips resulted in admission but even the other 3 times, the ER docs made sure I was given a good dose of pain/nausea meds. --Re: Flying?? , Just curious, I live in No. VA. What hospital did you go to while you were here? I go to Inova Fair Oaks which is really between Fairfax and Reston just off of highway 50. I always get treated very well there and just about everyone knows what pancreatitis is. Don't know if that's from me being there so much or what but I've never gotten the " there's nothing wrong with you " line whether in the ER or on the floor. And if you're in pain or whatever, they will give you (or me anyhow) the meds you request. I know a lot of that has to do with your PCP but I think they pretty well know what my requirements are by now. Take care, be pain free. Guest guest
, Thanks for the advice. I'm having another ERCP with sphincterotomy tomorrow. If all goes well, maybe I'll soon be without pain. I will head your advice and taper slowly. Luckily, I do have clonopin (i think it's kind of like valium) that I can take if I do get the shakes. Guest guest
, You should monitor your sugars... daily. Fasting and at bedtime is when I do mine, unless I am feeling sick then I check them a little more often. Talk to your primary doc and see if they can help you get a monitor, most times they will and you insurance will cover it. Also you should ask them to do a Hemoglobin A1C to see if your sugars have been elevated in the past month (I thinkits a month) I have that one about every 3 to 6 months. Mine so far are doing ok. My glucometer is a Dex made by Bayer Corp. Its tiny and diesn't take long to get results and all of the strips are in the machine. you just poke and the strip sucks the blood in and you are done in 30 seconds. Then you push the strip out and into the trash. Easy peasy!! I hope you are feeling better soon! {{{HUGZ and Prayers}}} ---------------------------------
